Pastoral Intern
Kate is thankful and excited to be an intern with Oak Church this year while she finishes the MDiv program at Duke Divinity School. She grew up in the high desert of Northern Arizona and then made her way to Spokane, WA where she studied Spanish and Theology at Whitworth University. After college she worked in Seattle and guided mountaineering trips in the British Columbia mountains before making a new home in North Carolina.
These many places, communities and cultures have shaped her understanding of a God who is endlessly creative, deeply compassionate and always near. She is hopeful that this year at Oak will be a time of knowing God’s love for the world more fully alongside friends and neighbors. That being said, she is always excited about getting to know people while sharing an afternoon on the porch, drinking Cook Out milk shakes, cooking good food or doing something new!
She loves this Oak Church family and is excited to see the ways it grows and changes this year.
