I am from the Charlotte area (Harrisburg then Matthews) which was the location of the country’s first gold rush. You can still pan for gold at Reed’s gold mine to this day! I came to the Triangle for college at UNC in 2007. After a brief stint in Indianapolis helping a church plant get off the ground as a lay leader, I settled back in the area working in RTP. We lived in Raleigh for several years before moving to Durham in 2021 so we could do most of our commuting by bicycle as well as be closer to my work and our favorite Durham hangs!

I live with my wife Hannah and our three daughters. Our favorite thing to do is ride our bikes around town on our way to the many things Durham has to offer. (If you see our very distinct cargo bike parked somewhere please come in and say hi!). One random fact that you should know about me is that I’m passionate about the intersection of environmentalism and human health so I could talk your ears off about the benefits to you and the planet of plant based eating and bike commuting!

When I’m not at Oak I enjoy exercising (mostly powerlifting but ask me about the 5:30am workout Pastor Chris and I go to!), working on my side hustle making high protein plant based foods, and I love to be active outside with my family (hiking, biking, and camping). If you’d like to see the church become a family, dream ways business can be a force for good, or grab a beer at our bi-weekly guys hang then I’m your guy.
