Introducing Bethie Figgie (Oak Church Resident Artist)

Pastor Chris introduces one of the 2020-21 Brehm Center Resident Artists.

Bethie Figgie is from Bellingham, WA, the home of endless grey drizzle, no cockroaches, excellent teriyaki, and clean sea air. She moved to Durham in 2017 for goodness knows why and has been here ever since. She lives with two roommates plus one cat, and her favorite place to hang out in Durham is the Scrap Exchange or the Eno River with strangers that also enjoy being there!

One random fact that you should know about Bethie is that if she sees a paperclip or safety pin on the ground, She will pick it up to keep. When she’s not at Oak Church’s potluck, she loves to ride her bike, dance to loud music, or enjoy a drink on the porch (especially when its raining or stormy!). If you’d like to talk about hospitality, community, or all the ways to cook an egg, then she’s your person.
