Introducing Nate Hood (Oak Church Resident Artist)

Alexandra Burchette introduces one of the 2020-21 Brehm Center Resident Artists.

Nate Hood is from Matthews, NC, the home of the Harris Teeter Headquarters.  He moved to Durham in 2012ish for an experience of community life in Walltown and have been here ever since. He lives with my wife Anna, and his favorite place to hang out in Durham is any quiet place outside with Anna and/or close friends.

One random fact that you should know about Nate is that he used to take my coffee with cream, and would credit Chris Breslin for helping him to stop, for which he is grateful. When he’s not at/in Oak Church’s potlucks, he loves to walk outside, to have vulnerable/philosophical/serious/foolish talks with friends, and to consume baked goods. If you’d like to talk about Communion, how one’s faith changes over time, or what constitutes worship, then he’s your person. Also he makes things out of clay.
