I am originally from Roanoke, Virginia, known as the Star City for the giant illuminated star that sits on top of one of our mountains (Google it!). I moved to Durham in 2020 from NYC in a leap of faith with my husband Chris, and we’ve been getting to know the beauty of the Triangle ever since. Chris and I live near Duke Park with our goofy basset hound, Goose, and my favorite place to hang out in Durham is walking on the Ellerbe Creek Trail (bonus if there’s a coffee from Cocoa Cinnamon in hand).

One random fact that you should know about me is that I used to lead creative workshops in prisons, and as a result, I’m extremely passionate about justice reform. When I’m not serving in Oak’s music ministry, I love to be in nature, whether I’m hiking, reading in the hammock, or tending to our fledgling garden. I come alive in deep conversation and I’m always happy to get to know someone over a long coffee. If you’d like to talk about the creative community at Oak, the intersection of faith and justice, or the complexity of being a human, then I’m your person.
